Eucharistic Adoration

The life of the parish

    Eucharistic Adoration

    Tuesday afternoons at St Patrick's, Gortin, after the 12 noon Mass. Come for the full hour or a few minutes.

  2. An open Bible during a parish Bible study meeting.

    St Pope John Paul II Men's Group

    Reflect on the Word of God, fellowship, and a cup of tea. The group invites men over 18 to join — those from Badoney Lower or neighbouring parishes are most welcome. It meets every Sunday at 6pm in Cormac House.

  3. The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, the destination of the Camino.

    2027 Pilgrimages

    Two pilgrimages are planned. San Giovanni, Lanciano and Assisi runs from Monday 28 June to Sunday 4 July 2027, with Fr James Devine as spiritual director — £1,200, with a deposit of £350 to secure a seat. Places are limited. A Portuguese Camino is planned for August 2027; contact Maria to register your interest, and further information will follow once flights are confirmed.

    Parish Choir

    The parish has two choirs. The youth choir is open to children from Primary 4 to 13 years of age, and practises on Thursdays at 6.30pm in Cormac House. The senior choir practises after Sunday Mass. New voices are always welcome — come along to the next practice and experience the joy of singing at Mass, and of becoming part of something truly special.

    Parish Ministries

    If you would like to get involved — as a Minister of the Word, an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, on the Church Cleaning Rota, as an Offering Collector, with Weekly Offering Counting, or with the Altar Floral Society — new volunteers are always welcome.

    St Pope John Paul II Award

    A faith achievement award for young people aged 16 to 18, run by the Diocese of Derry. Participants give an hour a week over 8, 14 or 20 weeks to parish and community activities, working towards Bronze, Silver or Gold. Non-competitive, flexible and voluntary.

St Patrick's and St Mary's sit a few miles apart in the foothills of the Sperrins. Parking at both churches is straightforward. Visitors and walkers are always welcome.
